In this example we consider a sub-model of a welded structure.

The sub-model is cut from a larger model subjected to 5 load components, predominantly in-phase with one exception.

The example can be used to test the hotspot extrapolation routines implemented in Fatlab, as shown below. Here, the user picks out a number of nodes and Fatlab extrapolates the stresses along the path defined by these nodes. Both IIW exptrolation (0.4t + 1.0t) and DNV extrapolation (0.5t + 1.5t) along with several others are supported.

Different SN curves can be selected for the different hotspots for comparison or sensitivity study. The results include damage, utilization and dominating load component (DLC).
